Chagas is caused by Trypanosoma cruzi and transmitted by triatomis as a natural infectious disease of both humans and animals (mammals). It is mainly prevalent in central and South America, so it is also called American trypanosomiasis. The acute stage of the disease has fever, facial edema, lymphadenitis, anemia and so on. Chronic myocarditis, heart failure, giant esophagitis, megacolon, pulmonary and cerebral embolism, sudden death and so on often occur.
