Mayaro Virus
Mayaro Virus Rapid assay is a transversal flow chromatography immunoassay for qualitative detection of Mayaro Virus antigen in human serum, plasma, or whole blood. It is intended to serve as a screening test and aid in the diagnosis of Mayaro Virus infection. Any rapid test for viral antigen in an active sample with Mayaro Virus must be confirmed with alternative tests and clinical trials.

Mayaro virus (MAYV) is an emerging arbovirus in the Americas that causes debilitating arthritic disease. The biology of MAYV is not fully understood and has mainly been inferred from related arthritis-derived alphavirus.
