Recently, it has been found that HTLV-ⅰ can cause a variety of diseases in humans: adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma, tropical spastic paraplegia/HTLV-associated myelopathy, etc. Htlv-ii is associated with T-hairy cell/megalogranulocytic leukemia and other diseases.

adult T-cell leukemia (ATL) is a malignant clonal proliferative disease of the lymphoid system that is directly related to HTLV-Ⅰ infection and occurs in adults. The disease mainly occurs in peripheral blood lymphocytes and can also invade bone marrow. The disease was first described in 1976 by the Japanese scholar Takahsukiyoshi. Its clinical characteristics are liver, spleen, lymph node enlargement, skin infiltration, interstitial lung infiltration, and hypercalcemia.
