Chagas disease IgG/IgM Rapid assay is a side-flow chromatography immunoassay used to qualitatively detect Chagas virus IgG/IgM antibodies in human serum, plasma, or whole blood. It is intended to be used as a screening test and as an aid in diagnosing Chagas disease virus infection. Any reactive sample using the Chagas disease IgG/IgM rapid test must be confirmed using alternative testing methods and clinical findings. The rapid detection of Chagas disease IgG/IgM is a side-flow chromatography immunoassay. The test kit consists of 1) a Burgundy color coupling pad containing Chagas recombinant envelope antigen, bound to colloidal gold (dengue conjugate) and rabbit IGg-gold conjugate, and 2) a cellulose nitrate strip containing two test bands (G and M bands) and a control band (C band). The G strip is pre-coated with IgG anti-Chagas virus antibodies, the M strip is coated with IgM anti-Chagas virus antibodies, and the C strip is pre-coated with goat anti-rabbit IgG.
