Cats acquire toxoplasma infection mainly by infecting their feces and by eating mice and birds. Cats kept in indoor enclosures that do not eat live animals or raw water are not susceptible to infection. Only cats infected with Toxoplasma for the first time will spread the eggs within the first two weeks of infection. Infected cats have cysts of Toxoplasma gondii in their feces, and the fecal excretion time after infection is not long, only 10-20 days. Cyst zygotes need to develop in the outside world for 1-2 days or more to become infectious, so remove cat litter or cat feces daily.
