Canine coronavirus is a highly contagious virus that infects the digestive tract of dogs and causes gastroenteritis, especially in puppies and youth pens. The virus is transmitted by the fecal-oral route. CCV usually causes only mild disease, but when co-infected with CPV, the mortality rate of infected individuals is significantly increased. Therefore, when a dog is accompanied by severe diarrhea, a combined CCV and CPV test should be performed.
